Bomb Blast in Maiduguri Kill At Least 17

Even on a day of celebration, a car bomb has exploded in the city of Maiduguri, killing at least 17 people, and injuring much more. The Islamist group Boko Haram have come out to say they carried out the attack and a suspect has been arrested, the military says.
The bomb went off near a market, sending up a large plume of smoke and witnesses said people were seen fleeing the scene covered in blood.

The scene ws described as chaotic, with bodies on the ground and troops firing automatic weapons. A witness said "I heard a very loud explosion followed by several other explosions. After a while, I came out of my shop and saw many lifeless bodies lying on the floor".
